HENGSTBERG Grüner Veltliner
the impressive, exotic Veltliner from our highest hill in the Wagram region with shell limestone-rich soil

At present, the Grüner Veltliner is the main variety growing on the "Wagram". Also this variety has different types. This wine comes from our highest, southly exposed vineyards on the Hengstberg – with 371 m sea level measuring the highest "mountain" in the Wagram area. We have at this time 2 ha planted with the old types of the G.V. on a shell limestone-rich soil. The blend of the different vines and the soil makes a lighter, but still profound and characteristic wine.

The fully ripen grapes are picked by hand. After pressing, the must is slowly fermented in our stainless steel-tanks.
