HENGSTBERG Grüner Veltliner
the impressive, exotic Veltliner from the old types vinified in stoneware tanks

At present, the Grüner Veltliner is the main variety growing on the "Wagram". Also this variety has different types. This wine comes from our highest, southly exposed vineyards on the Hengstberg – with 371 m sea level measuring the highest "mountain" in the Wagram area. We have at this time 2 ha planted with the old types of the G.V. on a mussel-chalk-brown-soil. The blend of the different vines and the soil makes a lighter, but still profound and characteristic wine.

The fully ripen grapes are picked by hand. After pressing, the must is slowly fermented in our new old stoneware tanks and stainless steel-tanks.
